ENTRY
Racegoers and staff will only be allowed access into Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse if in possession of a valid Computicket entry ticket which must be produced at one of the event access points. This is the only means of accessing the Vodacom Durban July.
Many of the facilities have a further facility entrance ticket and/or a specific wristband which must be produced on request by gate/entrance personnel.
PICNIC SITE ENTRANCE – GATE 5
All picnic site holders and their guests, who are bringing in cooler bags or containers of any kind, must enter through Gate 5 in Avondale Road. Gate 5 is close to the Avondale/DLI Avenue circle. Please note that you are required to use this gate if you are bringing in these containers and that this is the only gate that will be open for the entire day to allow entry with these containers.
Please attach the beverage decal given to you by Event World to your cooler box containing your beverages.
PARKING
If you have parked illegally your car may be towed away.
CHILDREN
Parents are responsible for and are requested to control the activities of their children at all times.
BETTING
No persons under the age of 18 are permitted to gamble.
In terms of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (No 38 of 2001), any person depositing, betting or collecting R25 000 or more must provide their full name, proof of identity and contact details.
PROHIBITED ITEMS
Firearms are NOT permitted and will NOT be taken in for safekeeping at the venue. Please leave them at home.
SMOKING
Smokers are asked to respect the laws of the country regarding smoking. Particularly highlighted, but not excluding any clause in the Act – NO SMOKING under any roof including marquees and in any outdoor area where persons are likely to congregate within close proximity of one another.
DRINKING
Alcohol or soft drinks purchased in any restaurant, bar or other facility must be consumed within that facility. Please therefore do not remove glasses or bottles, whether empty or full, from any facility.
We appeal to you not to consume too much alcohol. A designated driver is strongly recommended.
Please note that the S.A.P.S. will be forced to adopt a Zero Tolerance attitude towards misbehavior due to excessive drinking.
Underage drinking is strictly not permitted.
Under 18’s may not buy alcoholic drinks.
Gold Circle shall be entitled to evict any person not complying with these rules or behaving in any manner considered socially unacceptable and no refunds or compensation for damages will be given to any such person.
TRACK CROSSING
The racetrack is strictly out of bounds at all times. Use the tunnels under the racetrack to get to the other side.
There are two tunnels – one just after the Winning Post and one near the 300 metre mark, adjacent to DLI Avenue.
Both tunnels will remain open throughout the entire racemeeting.
Please move to your selected viewing position for the Vodacom Durban July well before the race.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS THE RACETRACK UNLESS IT IS VIA ONE OF THE TWO TUNNELS.
LOOK AFTER YOUR POSSESSIONS!
Racegoers are respectfully reminded to look after their possessions AT ALL TIMES on raceday and PARTICULARLY AFTER SUNSET.
Do not flaunt cash in full view of the public.
Do not leave handbags unattended on or under tables.
Look after your cell phone.
Be aware of suspicious persons loitering around you.
BEREA S.A.P.S.
Berea S.A.P.S. has an operating Community Service Centre on site at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse for your convenience located behind the Grandstand near the Avondale Road Entrance.

SOUND ADVICE
An appeal is made to Marquee operators to consider how their volume levels are affecting their neighbors and to keep these volumes at a reasonable level. A sound specialist with sophisticated sound monitoring equipment will patrol the area with the task of reducing excessive sound.
LAST RACE
ACCESS TO THE TRACK AFTER THE LAST RACE IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN UNTIL THE LAST HORSE HAS LEFT THE RACETRACK.
This means after all the horses have passed the winning post, pulled up, turned around and taken a right turn up the horse walk. GET THE PICTURE?!!
EVENT CLOSING TIME
The event will close at 23h00. This closure will be under the control of Event Security and the South African Police. Members of the race-going public are requested to respect these efforts to ensure their safety and are asked to comply with the above arrangements. We appeal to all to respect these efforts.
AFTER ELEVEN
Please be advised that, although there are many after parties planned in other areas of the city aimed at Vodacom Durban July attendees, there is no Official After Party this year.
EMERGENCY EVACUATION
If at any time during this racemeeting an emergency situation develops you will be asked to move towards the exits as indicated by the Security Stewards. You should listen to instructions over the public address system, move in the direction indicated by the Security Stewards, stay calm and not run.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
