Country Allure is a celebration of African identity, heritage, and cultural continuity, expressed through a deeply personal narrative inspired by my grandparents. Rooted in the symbolism of ibomvu the rich red soil of KwaZulu-Natal and its spiritual connection to amaThwasa (traditional healers in training), this concept explores the intersection of memory, spirituality, and modern African expression.

My grandmother, a woman grounded in craftsmanship and tradition, and my grandfather, an inyanga (traditional healer), form the foundation of this story. From my grandmother, I inherit the language of making – patience, care, and storytelling through fabric. From my grandfather, I inherit spiritual awareness, healing, and a connection to ancestral wisdom. Together, they represent the balance between creation and spirituality, shaping both my identity and design perspective.

The deep red of ibomvu becomes a symbolic thread throughout the collection, representing bloodline, life force, and sacred energy. It reflects not only the physical landscape but also an emotional and spiritual terrain one that carries the presence of those who came before me.
